RBC Says Your Interac Limit Cannot Be Increased or Decreased. Plan Deposits Around It

Interac e-Transfer participantFigures verified September 2026 · By

Can you use RBC Royal Bank of Canada to deposit at and withdraw from online casinos?

Yes, by Interac e-Transfer. Sending is free (all personal chequing accounts). Card and debit payments to gambling merchants are less predictable and sometimes declined.

RBC is the record that answers the question most banks dodge, and answers it with a no. "The Interac e-Transfer limit cannot be increased or decreased" is RBC’s own sentence, on its own product page, alongside a $10,000 daily figure for the mobile app. It also carries the only named penalty in this dataset for leaving a transfer unclaimed.

Which casinos take Interac does not vary by bank, so there is no RBC Royal Bank of Canada shortlist here. The same operators accept e-Transfer from every participating institution: the main Interac casino comparison.

Cancelling a RBC Royal Bank of Canada Transfer You Already Sent

RBC is the only record in this set with a named charge for letting a transfer rot unclaimed, which makes the cancellation window worth understanding before you send a deposit to a cashier address.

Interac e-Transfer Transactions expire 30 days after they are sent and cannot be claimed by the recipient after this time. You have 15 days after the Interac e-Transfer Transaction is sent to cancel without charge. A $5.00 Interac e-Transfer Transaction Reclaim Fee is charged when a recipient does not accept it before it expires and the sender does not cancel the transaction before the 15-day cancellation period.

Setting Up Autodeposit at RBC Royal Bank of Canada, and What It Changes

RBC frames Autodeposit as removing the security question rather than as a convenience.

Our note for casino players

Register your email for Auto-Deposit in RBC Online Banking to skip the manual accept step on withdrawals. Important: if you send a casino deposit and it goes unclaimed (wrong email or cashier issue), cancel it yourself before it expires. RBC charges a $5.00 reclaim fee if an expired transfer is not cancelled by the sender.

When a RBC Royal Bank of Canada Transfer or Payout Does Not Arrive

RBC words the 15-day window differently on its help page than on its product page, and the difference decides whether you pay the $5.

If you do not cancel an unclaimed Interac e-Transfer within 15 calendar days after we've notified you of its expiry, we will return the funds to your account and apply a $5.00 reclaim fee.

RBC Royal Bank of Canada Puts This in Writing

Where we found no published card term, a card-payment status on this site is our editorial reading. RBC Royal Bank of Canada is different: the clauses below are quoted from its own RBC Royal Bank Credit Card Agreement, form 15912.

Cash-Like Transaction means a transaction charged to your Account involving the purchase of items that are similar to and/or can be easily converted into cash. This includes money orders, wire transfers, travellers cheques and gaming transactions (including betting, off-track betting, race track wagers, casino gaming chips and lottery tickets).

The blocking clause. RBC Royal Bank Credit Card Agreement, form 15912 (PDF), read 2026-09-27 (a published agreement or fee schedule)

Two consequences worth separating. A charge treated as a cash advance carries interest from the day it posts, with no interest-free period, so a card deposit you intended to pay off in full still costs interest. And RBC Royal Bank of Canada has reserved the right to block it, so a decline is the agreement working rather than a fault.

None of it reaches Interac e-Transfer, which is not a card transaction and is not governed by a card agreement. How the Interac rails work.

Why You Cannot Raise the RBC Royal Bank of Canada Limit

Most of this site tells you a limit "can usually be raised on request". RBC is the clearest exception: it says the opposite, in one sentence, on its own product page.

The Interac e-Transfer limit cannot be increased or decreased.

RBC Royal Bank of Canada: Card Payments vs Interac e-Transfer

Card deposits sometimes declined

RBC's credit card agreement reserves the right to prevent the card being used for transactions connected to online gambling, and defines gaming transactions as Cash-Like. e-Transfer is processed as a normal bank transfer and is not covered by that agreement.

Unusually, this one is not only our reading. RBC Royal Bank of Canada addresses gambling in its own card agreement, and we quote the clauses further down: what the card agreement says. A decline itself carries no fee and no mark on your account.

Interac e-Transfer is a different rail, so the gambling merchant-category policy above does not reach it. How the Interac rails and processors work.

  • Did the payment fail at the casino cashier, on a card? If yes: That is a card decline, not an Interac problem. Gambling merchants carry their own card-network category code. TD, RBC, Scotiabank and CIBC all reserve the right in their card agreements to block transactions they identify as internet gambling. A decline costs nothing and leaves no mark. Interac e-Transfer runs on a different rail and is not covered by those clauses.
  • Did your banking app refuse to send the amount? If yes: You hit your own send limit. Limits are set per institution and are usually rolling windows rather than calendar days, so a transfer you sent yesterday afternoon can still be using up today. Read your remaining headroom in RBC Royal Bank of Canada before you retry, and split the deposit if you have to.
  • Did the money leave your account but the casino shows nothing? If yes: Almost always the deposit reference. A processor matches your transfer to the transaction you started in the cashier using a unique ID typed into the message field. Gigadat lists a missing, mistyped or reused ID, a different amount than you selected, sending without starting a transaction first, and arriving outside the 24-hour window as the reasons a deposit fails. None of those are visible from your side, which is why the cashier looks broken.
  • Is it a payout that has not arrived yet? If yes: Check the clock before you chase anyone. ATB publishes a fraud delay of up to 30 minutes on an Autodeposit transfer, particularly the first one from a sender you have no history with. Gigadat processes payouts Monday to Friday only and says a transfer can take up to one business day. A Friday-night request is a Monday event.
  • Did you get a security question you cannot answer? If yes: The answer was sent to you, separately. A processor sends a unique security answer by email or SMS for each payout, to whichever address is on your operator profile. Gigadat cancels the transfer after three wrong answers and returns the funds to the operator, which should credit your casino balance back within 24 hours.
  • Still nothing? Now it is worth a call. Reconcile the amount and date against your own transaction history first. Then contact the operator, because the operator is the merchant. Contact your bank through a number on your card or the message centre in your app, never a number from an email or a search result about the charge.

RBC states the $10,000 daily figure specifically for the RBC Mobile app. Its online-banking help page instead says an e-Transfer "is subject to client card entitlements" and names only the minimum, so the two RBC surfaces do not describe the ceiling the same way.

The weekly and monthly tiers read "varies by account" in our record, because RBC Royal Bank of Canada does not publish them. Yours follows your account plan and can usually be raised on request.

ReceiveFree (all account types)

Receiving is the side that matters for payouts, and it is free, so a casino withdrawal arriving by e-Transfer costs you nothing here.

What RBC Royal Bank of Canada Customers Report in Public

Forum reports, paraphrased and unconfirmed: useful for a pattern, worthless as a citation, and kept separate from everything above for that reason.

  • Forum members report a range of RBC daily ceilings by client type and say some were moved after a phone call, which sits awkwardly beside RBC's own published "cannot be increased or decreased". Where the two disagree, RBC's page is the citable one and the forum is the anecdote.Discussion: RedFlagDeals, Interac e-Transfer limits list (forums.redflagdeals.com), read 2026-09-27

What We Went Looking For at RBC Royal Bank of Canada and Could Not Find

Short list, which is the good outcome. These are the RBC Royal Bank of Canada questions we could not answer from a published page. The sections above cite 5 separate documents.

  • A single RBC page that states the per-transfer, weekly and monthly ceilings together. The $10,000 figure we quote is the daily app limit only.
